How we use information
- To create accounts, keep users signed in, verify phone numbers, and protect accounts from unauthorized access.
- To show accurate addresses, routes, ETAs, ride options, pricing, fees, receipts, and trip status.
- To match riders with available drivers or couriers and support trips from request through completion.
- To process payments, refunds, account credits, driver payouts, tax records, and dispute documentation.
- To review driver and courier applications, paperwork, vehicle eligibility, safety reports, and support cases.
Location and maps
Ride uses location data to show nearby drivers, suggest pickup points, map routes, calculate distance and time, support in-app navigation, and provide live trip status. Riders can type addresses manually. Drivers and couriers must allow location while online so Ride can offer nearby requests and support active trips.
Always-on tracking is limited.Ride does not need continuous background location when a user is offline. Driver and courier location may be used while online, during active requests, or where required for safety, fraud prevention, support, or legal compliance.
How information is shared
Ride may share limited trip information between riders, drivers, couriers, business account admins, payment processors, map providers, identity and phone verification providers, cloud hosting providers, support systems, insurers, law enforcement when legally required, and safety partners.
Drivers may see pickup, dropoff, rider first name, rating, notes, estimated pay, and route context. Riders may see driver first name, rating, vehicle details, plate, pickup ETA, and trip status.
Retention
Ride keeps account, trip, payment, tax, support, safety, application, and legal records for as long as needed to provide services, resolve disputes, meet accounting requirements, investigate safety issues, and comply with law. Users may request deletion where legally available.
Your choices and controls
- Update name, email, phone, saved places, profile photo, and payment methods in account settings.
- Export account data or request deletion from privacy settings or support.
- Disable marketing messages where available. Transactional safety, account, and trip messages may still be sent.
- Control device-level permissions for location, camera, notifications, and photos.
Security
Ride uses account verification, limited employee access, encrypted connections, secure payment providers, document review controls, audit history, and operational monitoring to protect user information. No system is perfect, so users should keep account credentials private and report suspicious activity immediately.
